Growing up on the central coast of California, Alex spent his upbringing surfing, fishing, and hunting as much as possible. During college, he started his first job in the outdoor industry as a tech in an archery pro-shop. There he absorbed lessons in customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal connection.

Post college, Alex began working as a professional forester, which remains his current day job. He splits his time between hiking through rugged country laying out timber harvests, and behind a desk producing technical reports, using mapping software, and maintaining client relationships.

Alex’s love for wild places led him to begin taking photos and videos of his adventures. It began with snapping a few photos on his iPhone, then to bringing a GoPro along on southern Mexico surf trips, and finally packing his mirrorless Canon miles into the backcountry.

Alex’s passion for outdoor pursuits is authentic and deep, which is what fuels him to tell the stories of others who share his obsessions.
